2 c vegetable or chicken stock
8 cloves garlic
1 t tamarind paste, or 1-2 small pods
2 T pomegranate molasses
1 T sugar
2 T honey
salt to taste
combine all ingredients in sauce pan, reduce to 1/2 c, strain pressing garlic through
serve with roasted chicken or pork
*I just re-worked this recipe and I added half of a peeled cameo apple (tartly sweet) which cooks down and dissolves like the garlic, and then put in slices of the other half of apple and fuyu persimmons to warm them up and served it with garam masala roasted chicken. Yum.
